Why Volunteer?
At Courtland United Methodist Church, our vision is to “seek to lead all of God’s children to become fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ.” In other words, our passion, and our hope for the community, is that all people can hear about the salvation that Jesus is offering, both in this life and the next, and experience the different, better life that results from it. Everything we do centers around this vision.
In order to realize that vision, we have established various ministries that help people to begin and develop their relationship with Jesus. Ministry areas such as evangelism, worship, and missions, help people to enter the church for the first time, experience the life-changing love of Christ, and begin to live that out in their lives.
We believe that every person in the church is central to making this vision a reality. That is why we offer an array of volunteer opportunities, ways to serve God, and help others to encounter and become fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ. By volunteering in the areas listed in this book, you will not only deepen your own relationship with Christ, you will help others to do the same.
This is what we were created for. This is what God desires for our world. This is what we can do when we work together as the church.
