CUMC held their annual church picnic on June 22 at the Airfield 4-H Conference Center in Wakefield VA. Rain the night before made us move worship inside at 11am. After worship we enjoyed a covered dish lunch featuring fried chicken, a variety of sides brought by all the wonderful cooks in our congregation and lastly, lots of delicious desserts! Following lunch everyone enjoyed canoeing, kayaking, paddle boats, fishing, and swimming in the pool. The Children's Ministry organized a night out for our parents on Feb. 14. Volunteers organized dinner, games, and movies from 6-9pm. CUMC held it's annual Fall Festival on Nov. 1. Festivities where moved inside due to the rain but it did not dampen the spirit of our participants. The kids where able to dress up in their Halloween costumes again and enjoyed trick or treating, games, snacks, and an inside barn fire. The Children's Ministry hosted a "Yard Sale: For Kids, By Kids" and a lemonade stand on August 25 to raise money for missions. CUMC gathered to enjoy a beautiful day at the Airfield Conference Center in Wakefield, VA on July 28th. The day started with worship at 11am with a view of the water and all of God's wonderful creation. A delicious covered dish lunch energized everyone for the games, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boating, and swimming that followed. It was a great day of fun and fellowship! On Sunday, June 9, our Children's ministry hosted Dogs With Dad to honor the fathers and father figures in our community. Everyone was welcome and enjoyed hotdogs, hamburgers, beans, coleslaw, and HOMEMADE ICE CREAM with all the toppings. The children and adults enjoyed games on the front lawn.On June 1, the church members came together to spend the morning cleaning and organizing various areas of the church. |
